Riverwalk is concerned about your Health

On May 16th, 2009 Riverwalk Pharmacy co-hosted the World Hypertension Day annual event with Heart Foundation Botswana, carrying the theme: "Salt and High Blood Pressure, Two Silent Killers".  The event boasted a flurry of activity, with hundreds being tested for Blood Pressure, Kidney Function amongst others.

Prof Kiran Bhagat, in his welcome remarks underlined that "the obesity epidemic, diabetes, heart disease and cancer all walk hand in hand with unhealthy lifestyle."  It was brought out by World Health Organisation Representative in Botswana, Dr Eugene Nyarko, in his Keynote address, that "today the power to prevent hypertension and many so-called lifestyle diseases is in our hands." He asked everyone to be on high alert on these issues as many are dying all around us from diseases that should not be killers.

Riverwalk Pharmacy believes this completely and has undertaken to assist in raising awareness on simple methods of avoiding and/or managing the stressful lifestyle that today's world demands.

Mr V. Rowhani, Director of Riverwalk Pharmacy, commented that "our determination is to help Batswana towards the National Vision 2016 goal of a Healthier, more Productive Nation." He added that their "well trained staff are always eager to provide advice and our long opening hours mean that we are aware of your hectic lifestyles."

Riverwalk Pharmacy showed their commitment by hosting the World Hypertension Day annual event, and maintains that this is only the beginning. Rowhani mentioned that they are busy "revamping the Pharmacy, and some exciting new features will soon benefit our clients even more." The Riverwalk Pharmacy Loyalty Club Card also enables patrons to get more value for their spend, a big bonus in a time when we are all trying to stretch our pennies a little further.
